Greg Rucka and Rick Burchett have announced a new comics project.
Lady Sabre and the Pirates of the Ineffable Ether will launch as a webcomic in July.
Rucka told The Stumptown Trade Review that the comic would be a "steampunk, pirates, western thing" featuring airships, floating islands, gunslingers, sword fights and "hopefully witty dialogue".
The pair hope that the webcomic will allow them to fund their American Soldier project, which follows the fate of a family through the US's major wars, including the American Revolution and Civil War.
Rucka teased American Soldier on his blog last year but is still seeking a publisher for the project.
Last year, the writer - who worked on the celebrated Batwoman-starring run on Detective Comics - announced the end of his work for DC Comics for the foreseeable future.
