Noveck, who was formerly in charge of the comic book giant's film and television ventures, will oversee Syfy-branded genre films in his new role.
The newly-appointed exec will report to Syfy president of original content Mark Stern and Universal Pictures co-chairman Donna Langley, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
"Noveck will work closely with the Universal and Syfy creative teams to find projects to develop by leveraging Syfy's experience in developing genre content," read a joint statement from Syfy and Universal.
During Noveck's tenure, DC properties saw a resurgence on the big screen. He also helped to develop television projects such as Human Target and several animated features, before leaving the firm last August.
Syfy and Universal founded Syfy Films to release movies in the sci-fi and horror genres.
