The company's co-editor-in-chief and chief creative officer will be appearing on a panel at the Hero Complex Film Festival on June 11.
The pair told the Los Angeles Times that they will be "bringing bombshell announcements about the future of Superman and the entire DC Universe" to the event.
It has been speculated that the announcement will involve the effects that the current 'Flashpoint' event will have on the DC Universe. Creators have remained silent on the events of their titles following the conclusion of Johns and Andy Kubert's storyline.
DC have also solicited the final issue of the core miniseries as its only release on August 31.
It has also been noted that the description of the panel on the film festival's website says: "[A] special appearance by DC Entertainment Chief Creative Officer Geoff Johns, discussing the big-screen future of the DC Universe."
A new Superman film starring Henry Cavill and directed by Zack Snyder is currently in the works.
