Geoff Johns won't return to 'The Flash'

DC Comics have revealed that Geoff Johns will not be writing a new The Flash series following the conclusion of current company-wide event Flashpoint.

Johns' run on the character ended with The Flash #12 , however it had been expected that he would launch a new series of some kind later this year.

However, DC have officially confirmed that Johns' run with the character will end following the final issue of Flashpoint.

"Like issue #12 was the final issue of The Flash by Johns, the final issue of Flashpoint will conclude Johns' run on Flash titles for the foreseeable future," DC Comics The Source writes.

The company have so far released no solicitations for their publishing line following the conclusion of Flashpoint, with many expecting a company-wide relaunch of some kind.

Johns is widely expected to begin work on a new Aquaman series later this year, as well as continuing his critically acclaimed work on the Green Lantern comics line.
