US manga publisher Viz Media has acquired the rights to Hiromasa Yonebayashi and Studio Ghibli's Arrietty The Borrower.

The firm is to reprint Japanese comics based on the anime movie in English and release them in two volumes, AnimeNewsNetwork reports.

Viz also announced plans to release other titles featuring the Arrietty character, though no specific details were revealed.

Arrietty The Borrower was released in Asia last year. The film reimagines Mary Norton's 1952 novel The Borrowers, moving the story to a Tokyo suburb.

Deadline previously reported that Disney has landed the rights to distribute the movie in North America.

Arrietty The Borrower is scheduled to arrive in US theatres next February.
