Young superhero titles unveiled by DC

By
DC Comics has revealed a slate of new titles featuring "teenage heroes and young superteams".

As part of its company-wide overhaul, the publisher is releasing number one issues of Legion Lost, Legion Of Superheroes, Teen Titans, Static Shock and Hawk And Dove.

Written by Fabian Nicieza and illustrated by Pete Woods, Legion Lost follows seven heroes from the 31st century who travel back to the present day to save their future from "total annihilation", io9 reports.

Legion Of Superheroes, penned by Paul Levitz with artwork by Francis Portela, takes place in the 31st century and sees the team attempting to adapt to the loss of seven of its recruits.

Teen Titans is written by Scott Lobdell and drawn by Brett Booth and Norm Rapmund. The title features a superhero team comprising Red Robin, Kid Flash and Wonder Girl. DC co-publisher Dan DiDio hinted that Red Robin will no longer star in his solo series.

Static Shock features a creative team of writers John Rozum and Scott McDaniel, with the latter also handling art duties. The series finds master of electricity Virgil Hawkins taking on superpowered gangs in New York City.

Hawk And Dove is penned by Sterling Gates and illustrated by Rob Liefeld. It sees the living avatars of war and peace attempting to avert a civil war.

The first issues of the young hero series arrive in stores in September.
