The group of Golden Age superheroes was notably absent from the solicitations of the 52 titles in the publisher's September relaunch.
Sometime JSA leader Mister Terrific is to receive a solo title but no mention was made of his former team during the announcements.
"As for JSA, we have decided to rest this concept while we devote our attention on the launch of the three new Justice League series," said co-publisher Dan DiDio on his Facebook page.
"As for other characters and series [that are] not part of the initial 52, there are plenty of stories to be told, and we're just getting started."
Justice Society received a major relaunch from Geoff Johns and Dale Eaglesham in 2006, and has since spawned the JSA All-Stars spinoff.
Solicitations for the revamped Superman origin in Action Comics #1 identifies him as the world's "first superhero", where previously the older members of the JSA had been active long before him in DC Universe continuity.
