Jimmy Carr's recent CLiNT magazine comic strip has been criticised by the Daily Mail.

According to the newspaper, the comedian's 'Beat My Score' short is a "sick magazine comic strip depicting shootings in schools".

The report went on to say that the story will "horrify the families of school shooting tragedies such as Dunblane and Columbine with his ultra-violent story".

CLiNT responded to the publication, stating that 'Beat My Score' is "a nihilistic satirical sideswipe at the glamorisation of violence, tackling the difficult and disturbing effects as seen in school shootings around the world".

Illustrated by Japanese artist Ryusuke Hamamoto, Carr's comic appears in issue #9 of CLiNT. The publication's editor Mark Millar previously described the strip as "maybe [his] favourite story in the comic so far".

CLiNT #9 arrived in stores this week.
