Original 'Batgirl' costume put up for auction

The outfit was worn by actress Yvonne Craig in the legendary television show.
Bidding for the costume begins at $2,000 (£1,250) on icollector.com.
"This is the original cowl used in the first appearance of Batgirl on the television show, which was supposed to be for a Batgirl spin-off series," reads the item description.
"Ms Craig complained of the points cutting into her cheeks, so they made another rounded cowl which was used during later episodes. This is the cowl used in that first episode and there are many photos of her wearing it."
Original Batgirl Barbara Gordon is to receive her first ongoing series written by Gail Simone as a part of DC Comics' relaunch in September.
The publisher has made the controversial move to restore the long-time wheelchair-bound superheroine's ability to walk.
DC has promised that it will not erase her past as the computer and communications expert Oracle.
