'Huntress' miniseries announced by DC Comics

DC Comics is to expand its 'New 52' line of relaunched titles in October with the addition of a new series starring the Huntress.

Writer Paul Levitz will pen a five-issue The Huntress miniseries featuring artwork from Marcus To and John Dell, according to Newsarama.

Levitz has a history writing for the Gotham City vigilante, having created the original Huntress with Joe Staton and Bob Layton back in 1977.

The original Huntress was eventually replaced by Helena Bertinelli in the 1985 DC Comics event Crisis on Infinite Earths.

The solicits for The Huntress suggest that the miniseries will still feature Bertinelli under the character's mask.

DC Comics announced 12 new ongoing titles as part of its Batman lineup relaunch this September, including Batwoman, Batgirl, Catwoman, and Nightwing.

The Huntress #1 will arrive in October.
