The award-winning titles are now available for iOS and Android devices, as well as on the web, through comiXology-powered apps.
"This is the first time Bone and RASL will be available on the iPad," Smith told Newsarama. "We had Bone available for handhelds in the past, but it was very small. This is a whole new thing. And it's just gorgeous.
"The iPad experience is... it's comics. Before it was just kind of a novelty, to tool around on an electronic device. But using the iPad, this actually is a comic."
Bone is written and drawn by Smith, and published in print under his Cartoon Books imprint. The series celebrates its 20th anniversary this year and has been optioned for cinema by Warner Bros.
RASL is a black-and-white sci-fi tale, which commenced in 2008. Lionel Wigram's production company holds the film rights to the series.
The Bone and RASL apps are available to download from various digital storefronts.
