More than 3000 digital comics are available to purchase through the application.
Hank Kanalz, senior vice president of digital for DC Entertainment, said in a statement: "This launch is another great milestone in our digital strategy. Our goal is to make DC Comics available to the broadest audience possible and this Android launch extends our reach among mobile phones and tablets.
"We want our readers to enjoy comics whenever and wherever they want, be it at home, work or while walking around San Diego Comic-Con."
DC comics purchased through comiXology can be accessed across different platforms including online and on Apple products.
Titles from the main DC Comics library and its celebrated Vertigo imprint are available from between $0.99 (61p) and $2.99 (£1.86).
ComiXology has most recently introduced digital distribution for Arcana Studios and Aspen Comics.
It also debuted digital versions of Jeff Smith's acclaimed Bone and RASL titles earlier this month.
