Titan will publish 40 new titles a year, as well as making available Avatar's extensive back catalogue.
Alan Moore, Warren Ellis, Garth Ennis, Frank Miller and Christos Gage have all had titles published through Avatar.
The publisher is known for it creator-owned titles that place very few restrictions on the imagination of the creators.
"The UK book market is a challenging environment to sell into," said Avatar CEO William A Christensen.
"We are happy to have an institution like Titan Books to help us navigate the waters and provide long-standing relationships with the biggest booksellers. The opportunity to work together with their highly regarded distribution network will allow us to reach new readers in the UK."
Ellis has written extensively for Avatar, including the Strange Killings/Gravel property, Supergod, Ignition City and Crécy.
Moore's Neonomicon is currently being published by the company.
David Lapham's Crossed 3D vol 1 was the bestselling graphic novel in May in a chart usually dominated by larger publishers such as Marvel, DC and Image Comics.
