Liam Sharp has unveiled his new publishing project at San Diego Comic-Con.
Madefire Publishing is a digital publisher founded by Sharp in partnership with Moving Brands CEO Ben Wolstenholme.
The writer and artist is best known for his work on Judge Dredd and Marvel UK's Death's Head II.
He also founded the short-lived but well-regarded comics company Mam Tor in 2004.
Sharp wrote on his blog: "The great thing about the current situation of digital publishing is that it's wide open.
"There are no rules yet, and nothing is truly dominating in the same way the big companies dominate printed matter. We can get our work out to anybody. And it can also be collated and printed to order for anybody who loves printed matter.
"For me the internet is the new corner shop - the more comics are seen in digital format the more people will get interested in them and find their way back to the stores."
Madefire will begin publishing towards the end of 2011.
Dave Gibbons, Mike Carey, Dave Kendall and Edmund Bagwell have all been announced to be contributing projects.
Sharp will be working on Captain Stone is Missing... with his wife Christina.
