The book compiles artwork from "the entire history of Star Wars comics publishing", from the Marvel adaptations of the '70s, to the present day Dark Horse series.
Star Wars Art: Comics includes classic illustrations handpicked by George Lucas, from artists such as Al Williamson, Howard Chaykin, Adam Hughes, Bill Sienkiewicz, Dave Dorman and more.
Newly commissioned work from artists including J.H. Williams III, John Cassaday, Sam Kieth, Mike Mignola, Paul Pope, Frank Quitely and Jim Steranko was also collected for the volume.
Abrams Books previously released Star Wars Art: Visions, for which Lucas asked a selection of artists to produce illustrations inspired by his film saga.
Star Wars Art: Comics is due for release in October.
