The four-issue miniseries is written by Skottie Young and illustrated by Age of X artist Clay Mann.
Full plot details for the comic are yet to be revealed, though the story is said to see Magneto "caught on camera killing humans", which is expected to affect his membership with the X-Men.
"No matter how trusting the X-Men are I think it's a big mistake to let their guard down completely," Young told Newsarama. "This is Magneto. MAG-F'N-NETO.
"I don't care if he convinces me he's selling girl scout cookies, I'm assuming he's only seconds away from hurting some fools. So yeah, I think that if you look at the history of Magneto, there's always a version of him that will make you lose a little sleep at night. I'd like to explore that a bit."
Not a Hero marks Magneto's first feature series since 2000's Magneto: Dark Seduction. The character appeared in the Magneto #1 one-shot earlier this year.
Magneto: Not a Hero is released in November.
