Th3rd World Studios will publish the family-friendly venture, which is written and drawn by Smith.
EscapeGoat follows a world-famous escape artist named Thomas Fleet, who solves paranormal mysteries in his spare time. The story takes place against a pseudo-Victorian backdrop.
"More often than not, it's off-stage where the real action occurs. It falls on EscapeGoat, along with his assistant Isis, a 2,000-year-old mummy girl, to solve the paranormal riddles plaguing the cities they visit," Smith told Newsarama.
"This first arc finds our heroes in London, England, where they must crack the mystery surrounding an ancient gemstone known as The Buddha's Tooth."
Smith will also continue to co-write his indie hit The Stuff of Legend with Mike Raicht and artist Charles P. Wilson III. The comic is about the enter its third volume.
The Intrepid EscapeGoat hits stores this month.
