Publisher Archie Comics has revealed that openly gay character Kevin Keller will tie the knot in issue #16 of the anthology.
Keller was introduced in Veronica #202 last year. The character went on to star in his own miniseries written by creator Dan Parent.
Life with Archie #16 will be the first comic to depict a same sex marriage ceremony. The book has previously shown alternate future weddings for protagonist Archie Andrews, to both Betty and Veronica.
The issue is written by Paul Kupperberg with artwork from Fernando Ruiz, Pat Kennedy, Tim Kennedy, Al Milgrom and Bob Smith. Norm Breyfogle provided the cover design.
Life with Archie #16 goes on sale on January 4, 2012.
