DC Comics will publish The Ray miniseries.
The four-part series will be written by frequent collaborators Jimmy Palmiotti and Justin Gray (Jonah Hex) with art by Jamal Igle (Supergirl).
The title will feature new character Lucien Gates in the role of the 'human ray of light', reports The Washington Post.
Gates will become the fourth incarnation of The Ray, "much to the chagrin of [Lucien's] girlfriend", according to DC.
The most recent Ray, Stan Silver, was created by Palmiotti, Gray and Daniel Acuņa in 2006 and starred in Uncle Sam and the Freedom Fighters.
Igle confirmed his involvement in the title on Twitter, having previously said that he was working on a new project for the publisher.
Palmiotti and Gray will also be returning to Jonah Hex in All-Star Western, which debuts on September 28.
