Vertigo's The Chill has been named 'Best Graphic Novel' at this year's Anthony Awards.

Jason Star and Mick Bertilorenzi's creator-owned noir thriller received the award at this weekend's Bouchercon mystery convention, Examiner reports.

The Chill was released under the Vertigo Crime imprint last year. The book follows the FBI's attempts to track down a woman with supernatural powers, who has committed a series of murders in New York City.

The Anthony Boucher Memorial World Mystery Convention is an annual event dedicated to detective and mystery fiction. It was first held in Santa Monica, CA with Psycho author Robert Bloch as the guest of honour.

Birds of Prey writer Duane Swierczynski also received an accolade at this year's convention, winning 'Best Original Paperback' for his novel Expiration Date.

Bouchercon 2011 was held at St. Louis, Missouri. Bury Your Dead by Louise Penny was awarded 'Best Novel' at the event.
