The 'Graphic.Ly on Facebook' app enables firms to embed digital comics on the social networking site to expose new and casual readers to the material.
"Most of our users are actually new comic book readers who have never been exposed to comics before," company CEO Micah Baldwin told Venture Beat.
'Graphic.Ly on Facebook' is free for publishers who use the digital comics platform. The service features panel-by-panel viewing, full-screen zoom, commenting and network sharing.
Baldwin went on to say that the service could eventually open up to all publishers and creators. "I think we're gravitating to a model that lets anyone use the Facebook app to showcase their work," he added.
Earlier this year, the firm revamped its website to offer improved community support , such as upgraded Facebook and Twitter integration, and a social stream displaying user activity.
Graphic.Ly hosts comics by top publishers, including Marvel Comics, Archie Comics, BOOM! Studios, IDW Publishing, Top Cow and Archaia.
