The DC imprint will work with Larsson's estate and the Hedlund Literary Agency to interpret each book as a two-volume graphic novel.
The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo will be the first to arrive in stores to coincide with David Fincher's 2012 movie adaptation.
The Girl Who Played with Fire and The Girl Who Kicked the Hornets' Nest will arrive in 2013 and 2014, respectively.
"Stieg always liked comics and it will be exciting to see the unforgettable characters he created come to life on the comics page," said his younger brother Joakim Larsson in a statement.
The Millennium trilogy has sold more than 60 million copies worldwide since Dragon Tattoo debuted in 2005.
Larsson passed away one year before the novel's release, leaving behind completed manuscripts for the first three entries in what was to be a ten-book series.
