Boyle's Rex Royd was written for Mark Millar and Titan Magazines' CLiNT and centres around the title character, a Lex Luthor-style super-scientist.
"I first got into comics properly when I was about 21, digging down through stacks in my friends' bedrooms," Boyle said.
"I'd read maybe half a dozen different issues of Justice Society of America before I worked out who everybody was, but it never really got in the way of the fun.
"That's the idea with Rex, it's only 11 pages a month, so not everything makes sense over a couple of issues, but hopefully there's enough ultraviolence and naked travesty to keep people interested till the full story takes shape."

CLiNT's editorial manager Andrew James added: "It's a pleasure to bring this comic to brand-new digital readers.
"It's a chance for fans of Frankie Boyle to see him outside his comfort zone, without a safety net, writing a true passion project."
In addition to Boyle's comic, CLiNT also featured the debut of Millar and John Romita Jr's Kick-Ass 2: Balls to the Wall, the sequel to Kick-Ass.
Fellow stand-up comedian Jimmy Carr has also penned a strip for CLiNT magazine.
Rex Royd is available now on iPhone and iPad at £0.69 or $0.99 an issue. A new season begins on November 24 in CLiNT #12
