The publisher will send retailers twice as many copies of the flagship title as they ordered to satisfy consumer demand, Bleeding Cool reports.
Point One will lay the groundwork for Marvel's major plotlines in 2012. The book will contain stories featuring Spider-Man, the X-Men, the Avengers, and several other of its major properties.
The anthology was unveiled at last summer's San Diego Comic-Con, where it was confirmed that creators including Jeph Loeb, Ed McGuinness, Brian Michael Bendis, Ed Brubaker, Fred Van Lente, Chris Yost, Matt Fraction, David Lapham and Bryan Hitch will collaborate on the title.
Marvel previously hinted that the book will feature an invasion of Ultron-like robots and the return of Nova to the Marvel Universe. Its latest teaser also suggested that the Phoenix entity is to make a comeback.
"Point One is a massive one-shot of 64 all-new pages of story by the top creators in the business, setting the stage for the biggest stories coming in 2012. It is the starting point to what's in store for the world's most iconic characters and startling events," said Marvel's Tom Brevoort.
Point One is released on November 2.
