The Streets of Gotham illustrator let the news slip when responding to a fan question on his deviantArt profile, but did not divulge details of the venture.
"I'm working on a new series for DC that we can't talk about until later this year. All I can say is that it's Batman-related," he posted.
Nguyen served as artist on DC's flagship Detective Comics title, collaborating with writer Paul Dini. The pair's run ended with issue #852 before they moved to Streets of Gotham.
DC relaunched several Bat titles as part of its 'New 52' initiative, including Batman, Detective Comics, Batman and Robin, and Batman: The Dark Knight.
DC Comics is expected to announce details of Nguyen's new venture later this year.
