The legacy series was relaunched earlier this month by creators Kieron Gillen and Carlos Pacheco as part of the the 'X-Men: Regenesis' initiative.
"Cyclops and his new Extinction team go head to head against the deadly Mr. Sinister," a Marvel spokesperson said. "And with Sinister controlling the all-powerful Dreaming Celestial in San Francisco, his destruction has no limits."
The new series features an ensemble cast of popular X-Men characters including Cyclops, Emma Frost, Magneto, Storm and Colossus.
Marvel released a special teaser earlier this week promoting upcoming story arcs in Uncanny X-Men.
Featured in the teaser image was Emma Frost sharing a kiss with Namor, Magneto and Psylocke coming to blows and Hope confronting the Phoenix Force.
Uncanny X-Men #2 will be published on November 30.
