The Marvelman creator passed away on October 31, reports ComicBitsOnline.
Born in Bow in East London in 1916, the writer and artist studied at Central Foundation School and John Cass Art School working freelance and going on to draw strips for an army newspaper during World War II.
Anglo worked for a variety of British publications during the Golden Age of comics.
In 1954, he created Marvelman for L. Miller & Son after the publisher lost the rights to use Fawcett Comics creation Captain Marvel.
The hugely popular character was later reimagined by a young Alan Moore. Legal issues saw the character's name changed to 'Miracleman', under which title Neil Gaiman also wrote the character.
In 2009, Marvel Comics announced that it had acquired the rights to Marvelman from Anglo. This has since resulted in reprints of Anglo's classic tales, with new adventures promised at some point in the future.
