The comic book illustrator picked up the gong for his role helming CBeebies show Dipdap, which was honoured in the 'Short Form' category.
Roberts is best known for drawing the Bec and Kawl, Angel Gang, Black Atlantic and Banzai Battalion strips in the 2000AD anthology.
This summer, fellow artist Frank Cho was honoured at the Emmy awards. American Splendor illustrator Dean Haspie picked up a gong at the same awards the previous year.
Dipdap is developed by Ragdoll Productions, and sees a drawn line create a series of challenges for the main character.
The British Academy Children's Awards took place on Sunday, November 27.
