Brian Wood has revealed details of his Wolverine and the X-Men: Alpha and Omega miniseries.
The DMZ writer discussed the central role that the returned Quentin Quire - aka Kid Omega - will play in his new title at Marvel's latest Next Big Thing conference call.
The series will focus on how Quire sees himself - especially in relation to the new Jean Grey School for Higher Learning - said Wood.
"He is kind of awesome in that he has these powers and abilities, but he's not emotionally equipped to deal with them," he said.
"If you were an X-Man and got to go to Westchester, wouldn't that be the coolest s**t ever? For Quentin, it's not," added editor Jeanine Schaefer.
The series will also star Armour and Rachel Grey, and sees Quire facing off against headmaster Wolverine.
"It's not the sort of fight you're used to seeing in a superhero book," said Wood. "Quentin [is] on the offence, Logan on the defensive."
Wolverine and the X-Men: Alpha and Omega will debut in January.
