'Action Comics' #4 to feature Steel 'New 52' debut

By
Action Comics #4 is to feature Steel's 'New 52' debut, DC Comics has revealed.

The publisher has released interior artwork from the Grant Morrison title depicting the popular African-American superhero, who will team up with Superman in the issue.

Steel will come to Clark Kent's aid in the comic's main feature, and star in an eight-page back-up written by Sholly Fisch and drawn by Brad Walker. The character will return for another back-up from the same creative team in issue #7.

"When Terminauts threaten to lay waste to Metropolis in search of Superman, it falls to Steel to come to the aid of the beleaguered hero - and the Man of Steel will sure need the help of this steel-drivin' man," reads DC's solicitation.

"But their team-up isn't all we'll get from Steel in this issue. Action Comics #4 also features a special backup story written by Sholly Fisch and drawn by Brad Walker. The eight-page story continues the action of ACTION, showcasing a heavy metal battle between Steel and Metal-zero."

Last month's Action Comics #3 saw the debut of Superman's dog, Krypto, in a flashback set on the hero's home planet.

Action Comics #4 is released this week.
