Marvel Comics has revealed that Avengers: X-Sanction will form the prologue to its Avengers vs. X-Men event.
Jeph Loeb and Ed McGuinness's miniseries sees Cable return to the Marvel Universe and going after Earth's Mightiest Heroes.

"The time-travelling mutant known as Cable, has returned from the future with 24 hours to save the world... by destroying the Avengers," said the publisher.
"What makes Earth's Mightiest Heroes such a threat to a better tomorrow? Cable's on a mission to prevent the tragedies that lead to the events of Avengers vs. X-Men... and every move he makes irrevocably changes the direction of the Marvel Universe."
Cable was apparently killed in the events of 'Second Coming', which saw him return mutant messiah Hope Summers to the present.
Avengers vs. X-Men will feature a rotating cast of writers and artists including Brian Michael Bendis, Jason Aaron, Ed Brubaker, Jonathan Hickman, Matt Fraction, Frank Cho, John Romita Jr, Olivier Coipel and Adam Kubert.
Avengers: X-Sanction #1 will debut next week.
