Statistics released by Diamond Comic Distributors show that comic sales are up 1.87% for the first 11 months of the year compared to the same period in 2010, reports ICv2.
If the trend continues into December, this will be the first year that overall comic sales have risen since 2007.
November sales showed a remarkable 19.44% growth compared to last year, with comics sales up 23% and graphic novels up 12%.
DC Comics remained the top-selling publisher, buoyed by the success of its New 52 relaunch, although the margin between its sales and those of Marvel Comics shrank.
DC took a 34.69% dollar share and a 39.66% unit share, compared to Marvel's 33.30% and 37.84%.
Justice League #3 was the top-selling title of the month, followed by Batman #3, Action Comics #3 and Green Lantern #1.
The Point One anthology was Marvel's top-selling title, placing fifth overall.
Batman: Noel was the top-selling graphic novel in comic stores in November.
