Fans now have until the end of the year to register their votes for the best comic released under the initiative.
Filip Sablik, Top Cow publisher, explained that the website crash was due to the heavy volume of traffic it experienced as the voting deadline loomed. TopCow.com has now been restored and moved to a more substantial server with increased capacity for traffic.
"The number and velocity of votes completely exceeded our expectations, and this is the sort of high-class problem you don't mind solving," he said. "All of us at Top Cow are eager to see which 'Pilot Season' competitor emerges victorious."
'Pilot Season' is an annual initiative from Top Cow that enables readers to vote on the future of six Top Cow one-shots. The overall winner is commissioned as a full series.
The first round of voting for this season's titles ends on December 31. The top four comics will go through to the second round, where the top two will later go head-to-head in the final.
39 Minutes by William Harms and Jerry Lando was named as the winner of 2010's 'Pilot Season'.
