'Animal Man', 'Swamp Thing' crossover launches in 12th issues

By
Jeff Lemire has revealed the timetable for DC Comics' Animal Man and Swamp Thing crossover.

The cartoonist's acclaimed Animal Man will tie directly into Scott Snyder's New 52 title from the comics' 12th issues.

"It's funny how much attention that's getting already," Lemire told Comic Book Resources.

"Scott and I have been working on it for a long time, so it's really fun to see all the anticipation in getting there. I feel like, between the two of us, we have a story that's really scaling up to whatever hopes people have for it.

"I can't wait. It's actually only a couple of scripts before we get to that storyline - so it's super-exciting. It's hopefully going to be a really big story for DC next year and for both of our books, for sure.

"I don't know how much I'm allowed to say but everything that we're doing will happen within Animal Man and Swamp Thing, the two monthly books. It will not spread over to other crossovers or anything like that. And it won't be a separate event book or anything. It's all going to happen within the monthly books."

The link between the titles was revealed shortly after the launch of the New 52.

DC has unveiled a series of forthcoming crossovers including one running between all the Batman titles and another in Legion Lost, Teen Titans and Superboy.

The Swamp Thing and Animal Man crossover will launch in the summer.
