DC Comics launches six new titles to replace cancellations

DC Comics has announced six new titles to launch in May.

The new series will replace the six that are to be cancelled from the original relaunched New 52.

Batman Incorporated will return alongside Earth 2, G.I. Combat, The Ravagers, Dial H and World's Finest.

O.M.A.C., Hawk and Dove, Blackhawks, Men of War, Static Shock and Mister Terrific will all end in April with their 8th issues.

Grant Morrison's Batman Incorporated will continue with illustrations by Chris Burnham.

Dial H is a series about an everyman who gains superpowers that will be written by award-winning novelist China Miéville - who was once lined up to write Swamp Thing - alongside artist Mateus Santoluoco.

Earth 2 will see James Robinson herald the return of the Justice Society with artist Nicola Scott.

Paul Levitz, George Perez and Kevin Maguire's World's Finest stars Earth 2 natives Huntress and Power Girl as they fight to return to their own reality.

G.I. Combat will centre around the main 'War That Time Forgot' story from JT Krul and Ariel Olivetti with rotating 'Unknown Soldier' and 'Haunted Tank' back-ups from creative teams Justin Gray, Jimmy Palmiotti and Dan Panosian and John Arcudi and Scott Kolins respectively.

The Ravagers will follow four superpowered teens on the run in a story spinning out of Superboy and Teen Titans from writer Howard Mackie and artist Ian Churchill.

"The New 52 was about showing the new world," Bob Harras, DC Entertainment editor-in-chief told USA Today.

"Now we're just expanding on that world and furthering the story."

DC hinted recently that cancellations would be forthcoming.
