Carried out by Nielsen, the report shows that the majority of readers were current or lapsed comics fans, with 5% of those polled identifying themselves as first-time readers, according to The Source.
Readers were overwhelmingly male, with further stats released by ICv2 revealing that 93% of those polled were men.
The stats show that readers are continuing to age, with very few new, younger readers buying comics.
Under 2% of respondents were under 18, with the majority of readers between the ages of 25 and 44.
57% of the digital readers did also read print comics, while just 16% of print readers purchased digital versions, indicating that digital sales are additive rather than cutting into print sales.
