The highly anticipated Image Comics title will receive a second printing, which will be released on April 11 alongside Saga #2.
Y: The Last Man writer Vaughan has kept most of the details of his new science fiction/fantasy series under wraps since it was announced at Comic-Con International last year.
A retailer in Florida has said that he has ordered more copies of Saga #1 than he did Justice League #1, last year's top-selling issue that is currently in its seventh reprinting, reports Bleeding Cool.
The series focuses on a very unusual family set against the backdrop of war and genocide. Vaughan has promised "spaceships and dragons and... robot boobs" from Saga.
He has also said that he will buy back the copies of anyone dissatisfied by the debut issue out of his own pocket.
Vaughan is also known as the creator of Marvel Comics' Runaways and the DC/WildStorm title Ex Machina. He was also a writer on Lost.
Saga #1 debuts today (March 14).
