The scribe told The Huffington Post that the series' depiction of sex and violence will likely offend the religious organisation.
One Million Moms, also known as the American Family Association, caused controversy when it targeted Archie Comics over its depiction of same-sex marriage. The group demanded that an issue of Life With Archie containing the subject matter be banned from sale in Toys 'R' Us.
"I absolutely think that One Million Moms should boycott this title. It worked for Archie! We have profanity, a profoundly liberal politician spouting off all over the place, and there's loads of sex too," Cornell said.
"Oh, and the naked people from the Pioneer Ten space probe plaque are two of our major characters. (That's all actually true.)"
Saucer Country, described as The X-Files meets The West Wing, debuts this week.
