Marvel Comics has released a teaser for X-Treme X-Men.

The image promises the return of the title, which was formerly written by Chris Claremont between 2001 and 2004.

The teaser gives no information beyond the title and a release date of July 2012, although more details have been promised to be revealed during Tom Brevoort's 'Talk to the Hat' panel at WonderCon on Saturday, March 17.

The original series was written by the legendary X-Men writer alongside artists Salvador Larroca and Igor Kordey.

It focused on a splinter team of X-Men led by Storm in search of the precognitive mutant Destiny's diaries.

The title was eventually replaced by Joss Whedon's Astonishing X-Men.

Marvel is also believed to be revealing details of its mysterious Spider-Men and Captain Marvel teasers at WonderCon.

Claremont recently said that he has little interest in modern comics and is instead focusing on his prose novels.
