The project is written by Hollywood lawyer Skip Brittenham and illustrated by comic book artist Brian Haberlin, the Hollywood Reporter understands.
At 370 pages, Anomaly is being billed as "the longest original graphic novel ever published". A digital version of the book will be released for tablets with narration from video game and sci-fi voice actors, along with an augmented reality app for iOS and Android.
Anomaly takes place in 2717 in a universe colonised by humans where one corporation pillages alien planets for resources. The story centres around a group of diplomats who are drawn into an interplanetary conflict.
A movie adaptation of Anomaly is also in the works, with Alice in Wonderland producer Joe Roth on board to oversee the project.
Anomaly will be released in hardcover and digital in October.
