The success of the crossover series helps Marvel Comics claim a majority in the unit and dollar market share categories, Newsarama reports.
DC Comics claimed the second and third spots on the chart with Batman #8 and Justice League #8, respectively. Avengers vs X-Men tie-in AVX VS #1 took fourth place. DC had four other comics in the top ten, while Marvel titles occupied another two.
Marvel ended April with a unit share of 39.07% and a dollar share of 34.64%, compared to its rival's 34.06% in unit and in 30.12% in dollar.
Image Comics' The Walking Dead continued its dominance of the graphic novel's chart, taking the top spot with Volume One, as well as seven other slots. DC had two books in the top ten, while Marvel was absent.
Single issues unit sales climbed by 2.47% compared to the previous month, and graphic novels made a small gain of 0.28%. Overall, sales were up 2.25% over March 2012.
