DC Comics has promised to re-focus on Vertigo.

The publisher outlined its plans for the mature reader imprint during its panel at London's Kapow! Comic Convention.

Co-publisher Dan DiDio said that more attention would be paid to Vertigo this year and that readers could expect to see numerous new projects launching in 2013.

Mike Carey revealed during the panel that he was working on two spinoffs to his current ongoing series The Unwritten, although he is not yet allowed to detail them.

DC's Brightest Day limited series and subsequent 2011 relaunch saw the return of former Vertigo characters including Swamp Thing and John Constantine to mainstream DC Universe continuity.

The characters had previously been transitioned to worlds separate from the main superhero continuity over the years.

DiDio said that to some extent DC had "caught up" with Vertigo's storytelling in titles like Swamp Thing and Animal Man.

Constantine currently stars in Justice League Dark in the DCU, as well as the ongoing Vertigo title Hellblazer, which remains separate.
