Self-cover comic books feature front and back pages made from the same paper as the interiors, and are less costly to produce.
The market-leading publisher previously brought the new format to all of its $2.99 titles, and has now expanded it to its $3.99 range.
"Starting with the 7/4/12 On-sale items, all 32-page Marvel Universe comics, including those that contain a digital code, will be printed with 50# Coated interiors and will be Self-Cover," Marvel said in a statement to retailers.
Marvel adopted the day-and-date business model in November last year, which saw all new releases land in stores and digital outlets simultaneously.
The company entered an exclusivity deal with leading digital distributor comiXology earlier this month.
