The villainous primate makes his 'New 52' debut in the comic, which is written by Francis Manapul and Brian Buccellato with the former also on art duties.
Gorilla Grodd, created by writer John Broome and artist Carmine Infantino, first appeared in Flash v.1 #106, and has gone on to become a recurring foe of the Scarlett Speedster.
The issue's solicitation reads: "Continuing the debut of Gorilla Grodd in DC Comics - 'The New 52'! The Flash travels to Gorilla City for the first time! Who are the 'Runners' - and what do they mean for The Flash and the Speed Force?"
DC relaunched The Flash as part of its company-wide overhaul in September last year, with Manapul and Buccellato as its creative team.
The Flash #9 was released in stores today (May 23).
