Disney's Club Penguin will play host to a Marvel Comics-themed event starting on June 14.
Players will be able to dress up their avatars as one of 14 heroes or villains from the Marvel universe, including Avengers members Iron Man, Captain America, Hulk and Thor.
"Everyone wants to feel special and believe that they can do something that no-one else can do. That optimism is what drives both Club Penguin and the Marvel storylines and characters," said Lane Merrifield, co-founder of Club Penguin.
"Club Penguin and Marvel characters are the perfect match, and I'm sure our players will love it."
Marvel EVP Rob Steffens added: "Bringing our worlds together marks a major milestone for both Marvel and Club Penguin. Reactions from the fans are already tremendous, and we're thrilled that we're able to bring Marvel and Club Penguin together for such an epic event."
The virtual world's inhabitants must decide whether to group together against the evil Destructobot, or defend the villain. Areas of the island have been transformed, with a bank, jail and superhero headquarters among the new inclusions.
The Marvel Superhero Takeover runs between June 14 and July 3.
