Avengers Assemble will mirror the cast and tone of Joss Whedon's blockbuster movie and arrive on screens next year.

"The Avengers movie has been the ambassador to the world for the Marvel Universe, so we want a show with the feel and the tone and the incredible adventures like that movie," Loeb told TV Guide.
"So the next project we are working on is Marvel's Avengers Assemble, which will be a brand new and really extraordinary looking animated series dealing with the Avengers in that same world."
Marvel's television department is also working on an animated Hulk series called Hulk and the Agents of S.M.A.S.H, which is also expected to debut in 2013.
Marvel Studios announced earlier today that The Avengers movie will arrive on DVD and Blu-ray in the UK on September 17.
