Publisher Image Comics confirmed that the first issue of the six-part miniseries will touch down on August 1.
Black Kiss II will serve as a prequel to Chaykin's controversial limited series of the 1980s, taking place in New York in the early 20th Century.
The creator revealed that he came up with the idea for the follow-up after listening to the Stephen Sondheim musical Follies.
"Black Kiss generated far more attention, notoriety, and frankly, income, than I ever expected," said Chaykin.
"After fielding offers and requests for a follow-up, it wasn't until I was listening to Stephen Sondheim's Follies, specifically the anthem that closes act one, 'I'm Still Here', that I had any idea how or what to do with a sequel. So thanks to Image for being there at the right time, and blame Stephen Sondheim."
Black Kiss II will be printed in black and white, and is rated 'Mature; due to its erotic content.
