MorrisonCon has sold out of its entry level $500 tickets.

Remaining passes for Grant Morrison's Las Vegas convention are priced between $699 and $1,099, according to The LA Times.

The event, organised by Isotope Comics and iFanboy in conjunction with Morrison himself, combines live music, spoken word performances, art workshops, film, and comic-inspired discussion.

"The ideas of comic books have exploded off the pages to influence our entire culture so we wanted to create an event to celebrate that," Morrison said.

"Something that would combine visionary ideas, occult ritual, music and spoken word performances, art workshops, experimental films, DJ sets and in-depth discussions inspired by the comics."

My Chemical Romance frontman Gerard Way, Frank Quitely, Jonathan Hickman, Chris Burnham and JH Williams III have been confirmed as guests at the one-off show, with more to be announced in the future.

Fellow comic scribe Mark Millar launched his own comics convention in the UK last year. Kapow! Comic-Con returned for a second year in May.

MorrisonCon is to take place in September.
