Teen Titans #0 will offer a rebooted origin for Red Robin following last year's relaunch, writer Scott Lobdell revealed during DC Comics' Young Justice Panel at San Diego Comic-Con International.
"Tim goes straight from being Tim Drake to being Red Robin in that there was no official period of time where he was Robin," said Lobdell.
"We keep most of the origin in tact in that he was one of the few people who could get very close to learning who Bruce [Wayne] is... but it will be a much updated version of his origin."
DC's solicitation offers a contradictory description of the issue.
"Focusing on the origin of Tim Drake; how a would-be Olympic star and computer genius went on to become Batman's third Robin," it reads.
Drake was originally introduced as Robin in Batman in 1989 after he was able to deduce the civilian identity of the Caped Crusader.
He later went on to adopt the Red Robin name following Battle for the Cowl, when Dick Grayson and Damian Wayne became the new Batman and Robin.
Teen Titans #0 will be released on September 26.
