More than 11,300 people flocked to the North West city for the event, which played host to comic book artists, TV actors, sports stars and video game studios.

"We were delighted with 2011, but 2012 was so beyond our expectations, " said Manchester Comic Con co-organiser Bryan Cooney.
"We knew we would have a great show but the turnout was even greater than we expected. The atmosphere was wonderful. We look forward to returning to Manchester next year and hopefully an even bigger crowd and hall."
Special guests included Life's Too Short star Warwick Davis, Tom Hopper and Rupert Young from BBC show Merlin, and the cast of Young Dracula.
Sports stars including former England goalkeeper Peter Shilton, and Manchester City greats Mike Summerbee, Tony Book and Colin Bell were also in attendance.
The flagship MCM Expo takes place at ExCel London between 26 to 28 October.
